PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a substrate for a liquid crystal display device which can uniformly maintain the cell gap of two substrates. SOLUTION: The substrate for the liquid crystal display device includes a transparent substrate which includes a display region for displaying videos and a plurality of spacers which are formed in the display region and of which the rate of deformation with compressive stress is smaller nearer the outer side direction of the display region from the center of the display region.
