PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dispersion liquid having high dispersion stability and crystal stability and causing few film defects in coating, to provide a method for easily and stably manufacturing such the dispersion liquid, and to provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor having very high sensitivity, mountable in a high-speed digital copying machine or digital printer using negative/positive development, causing few image defects such as surface stain or black spots even in an early stage and after repeated use, and capable of stably outputting the image, an electrophotographic method, an electrophotographic apparatus, and an electrophotographic process cartridge. SOLUTION: Titanyl phthalocyanine crystals having at least the highest diffraction peak at 27.2°as a diffraction peak (±0.2°) of Bragg angle 2θto characteristic X-rays (wavelength; 1.542Å) of CuKαare dispersed together with a binder resin in an organic solvent and the resulting dispersion lquid is filtered with a filter having an effective pore size of≤3μm.
