PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophoretic display utilizing electrophoresis phenomenon. SOLUTION: The electrophoretic display is provided with a lower electrode disposed on a lower film, a lower electrode protecting film formed on the lower electrode, a plurality of microcapsules which are disposed on the lower electrode protecting film, are coated or encapsulated microscopically and does not operate discriminatively for an electric field, particles and/or fluid which are included in the microcapsules and has visually one color phase, charged particles which are distributed among the plurality of microcapsules, have visually different color phases, operate discriminatively for an electric field and are dispersed in dielectric fluid and an upper electrode protecting film and an upper electrode disposed on the microcapsules in order thereof.
