PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a functional material having deodorizing, antibacterial, antifungal effects, etc., caused by negative ions and far-infrared light generated from compounded metal silicate fine particles by mixing the material with a coating material and applying especially on an inner wall, in the neighborhood of a toilet, on a foundation concrete, etc., or mixing with an adhesive and pasting a wall paper or wood board with the adhesive. SOLUTION: This functional material is characterized by mixing the compounded metal silicate fine particles containing metal oxides mainly comprising magnesium, zinc, silicon, aluminum and titanium with the coating material.
