PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an acrylic transparent self-adhesive composition not only having good transparency but also exhibiting excellent adhesive characteristics over a wide range from a low temperature to a high temperature. SOLUTION: The transparent self-adhesive composition comprises a polymer of monomers comprised of 70-100 wt% of an alkyl (meth)acrylate having a 2-14C alkyl group and 30-0 wt% of a monoethylenically unsaturated monomer copolymerizable therewith, a liquid additive component, and an organized layered clay mineral dispersed in these, where the liquid additive component and the organized layered clay mineral account for 5-30 pts. wt. and 3-20 pts. wt., respectively, based on 100 pts. wt. of the polymer, and the organized layered clay mineral has caused interlayer separation by insertion of at least a part of the polymer between layers thereof to have an interlayer distance of at least 100Å.
