PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a Ga2-xFexO3crystal capable of obtaining a crystal of a large size which is good in quality and is uniform. SOLUTION: The single crystal of Ga2-xFexO3having an orthorhombic crystal structure is formed by a floating melting zone method of forming floating melt zones between the tips of sample rods 3 and 5 consisting of Ga2-xFexO3arranged one above the other by heating the tips of the sample rods 3 and 5 consisting of Ga2-xFexO3arranged one above the other by means of halogen lamps 6 and 7 arranged at the confocal position under a gaseous atmosphere.
