PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent scattering of a liquid drop through an opening section of a wiping member. SOLUTION: This wiping device 20 comprises the opening section 22, the wiping member 21 that wipes a nozzle forming face of a liquid jet head for ejecting a liquid drop from a nozzle opening toward a target through the opening section 22 by allowing a liquid to flow into the rear face, the liquid being obtained by wiping the nozzle forming face, and a scattering preventing member 31 for preventing the liquid scattering the rear face side through the opening section 22 from scattering.
