PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sludge concentration method and equipment which can recover sludge flocs in a filter body without generating a floc destruction due to drop by gravity and perform continuous concentration treatment effectively and properly. SOLUTION: Filtrate filtered by the filter body 1 immersed in a filtrate receiving tank 15 is made to flow out into the liquid of the filtrate receiving tank, and at the same time, concentrated sludge having reduced moisture content is discharged. The external pressure added to the filter body 1 is increased and decreased by operation to increase and decrease the water level in the filtrate receiving tank 15 for corresponding to the change in the concentration and properties of sludge raw water supplied into the filter body 1, and the concentration of the concentrated sludge discharged outside the tank is adjusted.
