The excretion absorbing section (3) of a disposable diaper (1) is bent at a crotch cover region (8) so that the width inwardly decreases widthwise of the diaper. The region crossing the side edge portion (26) of an elastic member (13) extending in a direction to cross the side edge portion (26) of an absorbing section (3) in the vicinity of leg openings is positioned above the level of crossing regions (X, Y) where the side edge portion (26) and the bent portion in the absorbing section (3) cross each other.
