The beverage cooler (10) includes a vessel (12) for a coolant such as ice water or a conventional refrigerant such as glycol or Freon. A coil (32) is mounted in the interior of the vessel. The coil has an inlet (34) through which a beverage from an external source separate and apart from the cooler enters the coil. A tap (16) at the outlet of the coil controls the flow of the beverage from the coil. Substantially the only beverage within the cooler at any one time is within the coil.
