The engine has a cylinder and piston to compress gas, and also a drive shaft and a driven shaft. There is a widening (4) on the piston-side region of the conrod (2) in guide contact with the working surface of a piston (5). The conrod has the usual two bearing positions (1, 3). The widening is of a length smaller than the big-end clearance of the conrod.
