<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a path routing setting system which can lighten the load of a start node in an entire distributed network when the start node employs a system for calculating path routing down to an end node. <P>SOLUTION: The network includes nodes 102<SB>1</SB>, 102<SB>2</SB>with an additional function having a path request acceptance processor 107 for calculating routing using topology information, and normal nodes 101<SB>1</SB>to 101<SB>3</SB>for setting a path when its own node becomes the start node by a path request processing requester 106 which commissions the nodes 102<SB>1</SB>, 102<SB>2</SB>to calculate routing.
