PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus which enables a fixed white balance to be set every photographic scene mode to increase the degree of freedom about the user's operation. SOLUTION: The apparatus is composed of a lens 1 for condensing an optical image of an object, an iris 2 for converging a light beam condensed by the lens 1, a motor driver 11 for moving the lens for focusing and driving the iris 2, a CCD 3 for photoelectrically converting an optical image, a CDS 4 for reducing the noise contained in the CCD 3, an A/D converter 5 for converting analog signals to digital signals, a timing generator 13 for generating a timing, a digital signal processor circuit 7 for processing images according to image processing parameters, a frame memory 6 for recording photographed pixels and storing processed images, a display 8 for displaying a photographed picture with liquid crystals, a memory card 10 for storing compressed image data, a CPU 14 for executing specified controls, based on a control program, and a camera controller 16 for an operator to operate a camera body.
