PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrostatic charge image developing magenta toner excellent in stability of a charged state over a prolonged period of time, free of surface fogging and toner scattering, giving high image density as a magenta toner for full colors, excellent in saturation, transparency, light resistance and fading resistance, and excellent also in cleanability, transferability and graininess, and to provide a developer comprising the toner, an image forming method using the toner and an image forming apparatus loaded with the toner. SOLUTION: The electrostatic charge image developing magenta toner is toner containing at least a colorant obtained by dissolving a toner composition containing a modified polyester resin capable of urea bonding in an organic solvent, causing a polyaddition reaction in an aqueous medium, removing the solvent of the resulting dispersion solution and carrying out washing, wherein the colorant is a compound represented by a general formula (I).
