PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire achieving compatibility in on-ice performance, on-snow performance and driving stability. SOLUTION: Basic wet hydroplaning performance and anti-skid performance on ice or snow can be secured by a pair of peripheral main grooves 14. The on-snow performance is improved by a first lateral groove 16, a second lateral groove 18 and a lateral groove 30. A triangle block 20 extending to the tire axial direction is oppositely arranged alternately on a center of a tread, and thereby a portion near the base is surely grounded and necessary friction with an iced road surface is obtained. A portion near a vertex moving at grounding removes a false water film on the road surface before the portion near the base of the adjacent triangle block 20 is grounded, and the portion near the base of the adjacent triangle block 20 is surely grounded, and thereby the on-ice performance is improved. Groove walls of narrow parts of the first lateral groove 16 and the second lateral groove 18 contact with each other at grounding and a false peripheral direction rib 24 is formed on a tire equatorial plane CL, and thereby the driving stability is secured.
