OPTICAL FIBER GUIDE PART AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the optical fiber positioning accuracy of an optical fiber guide part and to reduce the manufacturing cost of the optical fiber guide part. SOLUTION: This guide part is formed by sticking a V-groove substrate 102 and a flat substrate 103 with two dummy fibers between them. The flat substrate 103 is a substrate, the front face and the rear face of which are plane and parallel. The depth of all V-grooves of the V-groove substrate 102 are designed to be equal. The spacing of all of the V-grooves is 0. 25 mm. Two dummy fibers 104a are respectively arranged at two V-grooves 102c at both sides. The dummy fibers 104a have a predetermined outer diameter that is slightly longer (by as much asΔd) than that of an optical fiber used in a connector. As a dummy fiber, an optical fiber can be selected, wherein clearance in all insertion holes is≥0μm and which has an outer diameter that is as small as possible. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
