PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To mitigate a burning phenomenon caused by in-surface potential unevenness which is made remarkable principally when a size is enlarged, in a liquid crystal display device using a chiral smectic liquid crystal. SOLUTION: Points and a surface area for supplying an electric charge to an opposite substrate are made richer on a scanning signal supplying end side than on the center side of an another substrate having at least an active element.
