PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an aqueous coating resin composition giving a coat having better weather resistance and excellent gloss, and to provide a resin emulsion for coating, obtained by the method. SOLUTION: The pre-emulsified liquid is obtained by performing first emulsion polymerization of (meth)acrylic monomer in an aqueous medium in the presence of an alkoxysilane compound and, when conversion reaches≥70%, pre-emulsifying a polymerizable UV-stable monomer and/or a polymerizable light-stable monomer, and, preferably, the second emulsion polymerization is performed by adding a pre-emulsified liquid obtained by pre-emulsifying the obtained pre-emulsified liquid with (meth)acrylic monomer.
