PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cake separation apparatus using a scraper in a filter press comprising a metal filter medium spread in a filer bed of a filteration plate. SOLUTION: The cake separation apparatus for a filter press (4, 4a) is obtained by alternatedly arranging flat type filtration plates (5) and middle part-recessed filtration plates (6). A metal filter medium (7) is spread in the filter bed (5a) of each flat type filtration plate (5): rotary shafts (11, 12) are journaled with arms (9, 10) installed in the upper and lower sides of each flat type filtration plate (5): chains (15) are respectively turned around an upper and lower sprocket wheels (13, 14): front and rear scrapers (16, 17) are joined to a pair of the right and left chains (15): in the normal state, the front side scraper (16) is positioned so as to be under the lower end of the filtration plates (5) and the rear side scraper (17) is positioned so as to be above th upper end of the filtration plates (5): and the tip end parts of the front and rear scrapers (16, 17) are moved so as to be brought into contact with the metal filter medium (7) face at the time of moving up and down.
