摘要 The invention relates to a method for identifying substances in a liquid or gaseous sample, according to which a selected microparticle size category is assigned to one of the substances, which is presumed to be in the sample and is, therefore, to be identified. Microparticles of the respective size category are then prepared for binding molecules of the respectively assigned substance and are added to the sample. A hybridization phase is run through for binding molecules. Afterwards, the sample is led into a measuring cell via a measuring channel which is preferably illuminated by a laser light beam that is attenuated to varying degrees by the microparticles passing in a scattered manner through the measuring channel. This attenuation is measured by a sensor as a particle size signal. Hybridized microparticles emit a fluorescent light resulting from the illumination thereof, which is also detected by a sensor. When, from a measured microparticle, a fluorescent light signal is detected in addition to the particle size signal, a substance contained in the sample can be identified according to assignment by using the particle size signal.
