摘要 Mineral wool is made by centrifuging a molten mineral at >= 1100 [deg] C within a spinner having orifices through which fibers form. The spinner is made from a cobalt alloy including 23-34 % chromium, 6-12 % nickel,3-10 % tantalum, 0.2-1.2 % carbon, 0-8 % tungsten, = 3 % iron, = 1% silicon, = 0.5% manganese, = 0.1% zirconium. The tantalum/carbon mole ratio = 0.3. Independent claims are included for: (a) the above cobalt alloy that has good mechanical resistance at high temperature; (b) an article made from (a) and used for forming a glass. and (c) use of an article made from (a) at high temperature in an oxidizing atmosphere. Preferred Features: The mineral 39-55 % silicon dioxide,16-27 % aluminum oxide, 3-35 % calcium oxide, 0-15 % magnesium oxide, 0-15 % sodium oxide, 0-15 % potassium oxide, 10-17% mixture of sodium and potassium oxides, 0-3 % phosphorus oxide, 0-15 % iron (including iron oxide), 0-8 % boron oxide, 0-3 % titanium dioxide.
