PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cover device for the sprinkling tank of a cooling tower blocking light to the tank by means of a simple structure to avoid the growth of algae, while allowing easy maintenance. SOLUTION: The cover device includes: a pair of guide members 36, 38 mounted at an opening in the sprinkling tank 22 and provided at the cooling tower 12 which serves as a heat exchanger of an air-conditioner heat source device for fresh air; and a plurality of shield plates 40, 42 slidably mounted on the guide members 36, 38. A locking member 52 is provided for locking together the shield plates 40, 42 aligned to close the sprinkling tank 22. A water feeder 24 for pumping up water into the sprinkling tank 22 is provided at approximately the center of the sprinkling tank 22. The shield plates 40, 42 are made from synthetic resin and a cutout 44 is formed in the edge of each of the shield plates 40, 42 opposite to the water feeder 24 in such a manner as to abut the circumference of the water feeder 24.
