PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a function of automatically detecting which one of a waterproof type speaker microphone and a non-waterproof type speaker microphone is connected and automatically changing radio communication equipment to setting suited to it. SOLUTION: This radio communication equipment TR is connected to either one of the waterproof type speaker microphone 1a whose output signals are at a low level, and the non-waterproof type speaker microphone 1b whose output signals are at a high level. Further, the equipment TR is provided with a judging means for judging whether the level of the output signals of the connected speaker microphone is the high level or the low level, and a setting means for setting the gain of a microphone amplifier high when the output signals are at the low level and setting the gain of the microphone amplifier low when the output signals are at the high level.
