PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary air supply system for internal combustion engine capable of maintaining appropriate mixing of the exhaust and the secondary air and capable of appropriately restricting the generation of clogging in an injection opening of a secondary air lead-in pipe. SOLUTION: A plurality of small holes as the secondary air injection openings 33 are formed in a side surface of a tip part of the secondary air lead-in pipe 32 inserted from an exhaust manifold 24 to a combustion chamber 16 of an internal combustion engine. With such a structure, the secondary air injection opening 33 is opened, while avoiding the exhaust flowing direction, to prevent intrusion of the exhaust into the secondary air lead-in pipe 32.
