A device for insertion in the uterus comprises two limbs 2, 2 and means such as crossed bars 3, connecting them together. This is made from a resilient synthetic resin material, such as polyethylene and, to aid in retention of the device, the end members 2 are preferably bowed out of the general plane of the device.
