A method for window-controlled filtering of CT-images involves initially recording a CT-raw data record with a CT-device or with a C-arc device, followed by reconstructing a primary data record from the raw data record and preparing a transfer function as a functional dependency between window width and image sharpness. Automatic computation is then carried out on the CT-image image-sharpness of a selected layer lying in the primary data record, in dependency on a selected window-width for the selected layer by an image processing process on the basis of the transfer function.
