NIC MINIMIZING INTERRUPT FREQUENCY AND METHOD FOR GENERATING INTERRUPT

PURPOSE: An NIC(Network Interface Card) minimizing an interrupt frequency and a method for generating an interrupt are provided to minimize a number of the generated interrupts and process many data frames by one interrupt when the NIC receives the data frame. CONSTITUTION: The first delay measuring circuit(1320) measures the first delay by responding to the received data frame and stops measurement by responding to the interrupt. A type recognizing circuit(1330) recognizes a value of a type field for the data frame by responding to the received data frame and stops recognition by responding to the interrupt. A data frame counting circuit(1340) counts the number of the data frame by responding to the received data frame and stops count by responding to the interrupt. A judging circuit(1350) generates an interrupt control signal controlling generation of the interrupt by judging the first delay time, the accordance of the type values, and the number of the data frame. An interrupt generating circuit(1360) generates the interrupt by responding to the interrupt control signal.
