FIELD: thermal protective devices of flying vehicles. SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes delivery of cooling fluid medium in liquid phase to heat shield and evaporation of it on inner side of outer envelope of heat shield by spraying cooling medium in liquid phase on inner surface of outer envelope of heat shield at escape of vapor into surrounding atmosphere through pores found in surface of outer porous envelope of heat shield. Delivery of cooling medium in liquid phase through injectors is regulated discretely depending on readings of orientation sensors. Temperature on outer surface of heat shield is strictly maintained at preset level during preset period of time. Ratio of flow rate of cooling medium through injectors to heat shield and total area of vapor escape holes is strictly checked. Device proposed for realization of this method includes heat shield made in form of outer porous corrugated or crater-shaped envelope manufactured from solid material with heat-absorbing surface; it is located at some distance from flying vehicle, thus forming cavity filled with vapor of cooling medium; it is divided into separate sections; each section is communicated with cooling medium source by means of mains of supply system. Cooling medium supply source is made in form of bottle filled with ammonium. Check equipment of cooling medium supply main includes temperature sensors secured on inner surface of outer porous envelope, flow sensors showing flow rate of liquid sprayed on inner surface of outer porous envelope, orientation sensor connected with signal processing unit; signal processing unit is connected with control unit generating signals for electric valves for discrete control of supply of cooling liquid through injectors.
