[Also in Divisions B2 and F1] A vibrating conveyer or screen 6 derives it<SP>s</SP> drive from shafts 15 and 16 which are respectively connected by eccentric 13 and rod 1, and by eccentric 14 and rod 2 to link 3 pivoted at 4 to conveyer 6. Shaft 15 is driven and is connected to shaft 16 by chain 17 so that when the two eccentrics are driven in phase the conveyer 6 is vibrated. The amplitude of vibration is varied by varying the phase difference between the two eccentrics, and this is effected by passing chain 17 round sprockets 21 and 22, the sprockets being mounted on link 26 pivoted at 27 and operated by a handle 28 (not shown) secured to the shaft 27. A displacement of handle 28 causes link 26 to reposition the two sprockets 21 and 23, which repositioning causes a movement of chain 17 and a rotation of shaft 16 relative to shaft 15. In this way the amplitude of vibration of the conveyer may be varied during running. The conveyer 6 shown is provided with a counterweight 29 which likewise is driven from shafts 15 and 16 through respective eccentric 34 and shaft 32, and eccentric 35 and shaft 33, the rods being connected to link 31 pivotally mounted upon said counterweight 29. |
