Breakaway coupling for articulated fuel supply

An engine system 10 comprises a fuel reservoir 20 connected to an engine via a coupling device 50 having a support 90 capable of swivelling through 180{, the coupling device 50 providing sealing and uncoupling of a fuel supply tube when a tension limit is reached. The system 10 is applicable to an articulated vehicle having at least one fuel reservoir 20 in a trailer (510 fig 2). A second reservoir 540 may be located in the tractor unit (500 fig 2). A dual fuel version may comprise a further tank providing petrol or diesel to heat natural gas supplied to the engine. The coupling device 50 comprises a breakaway coupling 70 connected to a stainless steel pipe 40 and a nozzle 80 connected to a braided stainless steel hose 60. A second coupling 110 includes two non-return valves (300, 320 fig 3) to prevent fuel from flowing upstream into another pipe.
