VSB RECEIVER HAVING EQUALIZER THAT IMPROVES EQUALIZING PERFORMANCE AND EQUALIZING METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A VSB receiver having an equalizer that improves equalizing performance and an equalizing method of the receiver are provided to equalize one of ghost signals having a predetermined threshold as a main signal. CONSTITUTION: An equalizer of a single carrier receiver includes a pre-ghost detector(405), a delay(406), a feed forward unit(401), and a feedback unit(402). The pre-ghost detector detects a delay time of one of ghost signals having a threshold value higher than a predetermined threshold in order to set the ghost signal as a main signal. The delay delays an input field synchronous signal by the delay time. The feed forward unit filters ghost signals received before the ghost signal as the main signal. The feedback unit receives the delayed field synchronous signal and filters ghost signals received after the ghost signal as the main signal.
