1,008,412. Fastener driving tool. FASTENER CORPORATION. Dec. 21, 1962 [Dec. 22, 1961], No. 48335/62. Heading B4C. A solenoid-operated tool for driving fasteners, such as staples or nails, comprises a portable housing 12 having a winding 18 and an armature 22 coupled to a driver 24, a cable 30 connected to the tool for supplying an undulating potential thereto, switch means 34 actuated by a trigger 36 manually operable at random times relative to the undulating potential, and control circuit means 32 controlled by the switch means for energizing the winding from the undulating potential for only a selected half - cycle of the potential. The circuit means 32 is arranged as a plug-in unit having terminals 42 at its forward end for connection with the switch 24 and a cable 46 leading to the winding 18 and, at its rear end, with a potentiometer 64 and the cable 30. The circuit is adapted to divide the undulating potential into positive and negative half-cycles, the positive half-cycle being fed to capacitors which are discharged to energize the winding when the switch 34 is actuated by the trigger 36. The potentiometer is mounted on the housing in order to vary the current supplied to the capacitors. Specification 1,008,414 is referred to.
|
