In floors of the kind comprising concrete cast into channels defined between parallel light-weight beams 1, reinforcing rods 6 in the channels are spaced from the bottoms of the channels by abutments 4 formed on the beams: Spacers 7 placed between pairs of aligned beams permit the use of transverse reinforcing rods 8 which can be laid over the rods 6. Each beam 1 may have a longitudinally extended moulded cavity 9, Fig. 1 (not shown) in its lower face for the reception of services such as electric cables. Adjacent beams may support between them hangers for suspended ceilings.
