FIELD: furniture industry; a lacquer application. SUBSTANCE: the invention presents a method and a device for a lacquer application on edges and borders of plates, especially on those made out of porous materials used in the furniture industry. The method is realized using a tool for a lacquer application, that contains a lacquer metering member and a roller for a lacquer application. Application of a lacquer on a surface of a working item is exercised in a fixed amount or a fixed thickness with due regard to saturation capacity of a working item by change or replacement of a contour the lacquer metering member and-or the roller used for a lacquer application. At that a lacquer is applied on some areas of a working item so, that the sections of the surface with the greater saturation capacity the thickness or amount of the applied lacquer should exceed the thickness or amount of the lacquer applied on the sections with lower saturation capacity. A more thicker layer of a lacquer should be put on the inner layer of the working item and its thickness is being reduced in a direction of the horizontal surfaces of the working item. For realization of the method they may use several tools for a lacquer application, each of which should contain a lacquer metering member and a lacquer application roller having a profiled cut-out. The invention ensures a precise metering of the lacquer applied on a profiled edge with due regard to the structure of the working item surfaces having different saturation capacity.
