PURPOSE: An originating call messaging method and system is provided to display an originating call message, instead of a CID(Caller ID), to a called terminal before call initiation. CONSTITUTION: A calling terminal(100) transmits a call request signal with a CID and an originating call message. An exchange(200) receives the call request signal sent from the calling terminal(100), processes the received signal so that the originating call message, instead of the CID, can be displayed at a called terminal, and relays the processed signal to the called terminal(300). The called terminal(300), if the call request signal is received, outputs a bell sound, extracts the originating call message from the received call request signal, and displays it. The called terminal(300) consists of a detection part(310), a display part(320), a voice output part(330), and a control part(340).
