FIELD: chemical and paint-and-varnish industries. SUBSTANCE: liquid is acted on by pulses of gas jet forming depression on its surface; time interval from moment of delivery of gas jet till moment of attaining depression of required volume is noted; said time interval is indicative of liquid viscosity; gas flow escaping from depression is divided by wedge baffle into two parts; moment of attaining depression of required volume is determined by moment of arising of maximum amplitude of acoustic vibrations.
