FIELD: ceramics. SUBSTANCE: in a method that can be used in fabrication of bricks, ceramic stones, tile, and large-size blocks, molding material is first prepared containing 0.1-50.0% sand, 3.4-15.0% calcium oxide, and 0.1-4.0% curing activator in the form of caustic soda or soda ash, ammonium salt, or their mixtures, to which 0.1-4.0% of sodium silicate is added in the form of liquid glass and clay. Molding material is then subjected to plastic molding and molded products are subjected to heat treatment: they are first dried at 60-70 C to moisture content 10.0-11.5% and then undergo hygrothermal treatment for 2 h in closed saturated steam atmosphere at 100-105 C followed by drying to gradually reduce moisture. Subsequent drying is conducted for 8-10 h while gradually raising temperature from 105 to 130 C until residual moisture content 1.0-1.5% is obtained. Molding material is prepared in three steps: components are first mixed, resulting mixture is allowed to lie for 12-24 h until calcium oxide is slaked and clay is hydrolyzed, after which molding material is treated to acquire homogeneity by way of introducing it in vacuum press after fine grinding and rubbing.
