PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an adaptive learning algorithm for converting the coefficients of an adaptive filter in a digital filter into values for minimizing the error of a separate signal obtained from an output signal of the adaptive filter. SOLUTION: A linear filter 52 feeds back an error signal generated from an output of an adaptive filter 51 to a leaning circuit 53, the learning circuit 53 learns the coefficients of the adaptive filter 51, using the fed back signal. The coefficients of the linear filter 52 are determined according to a method of generating a signal to minimize its error. In a digital filter of a signal interpolation type timing recovery system, the coefficients of an inverse interpolation filter are determined so as to minimize the error of the signal after the interpolation.
