PURPOSE: A hot water extract of a sulfur-fed duck obtained by extracting sulfur-fed duck meat in distilled water in a double boiler is provided. It shows better growth inhibiting effect against various cancer cells in an MTT assay than an extract of conventional duct meat. CONSTITUTION: About 1 part by weight of sulfur-fed duck meat and about 10 parts by weight of distilled water are heated in a double boiler, filtered and then centrifuged to remove an oil layer. Then, a liquid layer is concentrated under reduced pressure and then freeze-dried. The freeze dried product is dissolved in a phosphate buffering solution(PBS) to produce an extract. |
