CYLINDRICAL LENS ARRAY FOR COLOR SCROLLING AND PROJECTION SYSTEM EMPLOYING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A cylindrical lens array for color scrolling and a projection system employing the cylindrical lens array are provided to easily control a scrolling operation. CONSTITUTION: A projection system includes a light source(5), a cylindrical lens array(50), a beam splitter(15), a light valve, and a projection lens unit. The cylindrical lens array is constructed such that a cylindrical lens cells(51) are arranged in the form of an endless track and rotated to scroll a color bar image. The beam splitter splits a beam emitted from the light source. The light valve on-off-control the beam that has passed through the beam splitter and cylindrical lens array in pixel unit according to an input video signal, to form a color image. The projection lens unit projects the image formed by the light valve on a screen.
