摘要 PURPOSE: A system and a method for predicting generation of roll chatter in hot rolling mill are provided to judge relative risk of roll chatter using resonant frequency of rolling stand and torsional vibration of spindle of the rolling stand and detect generation of chatter in advance based on information on chatter generation ratio per workpiece region. CONSTITUTION: In a system for predicting generation of roll chatter in a rolling mill comprising a plural rolling mill stands, the system comprises a rolling mill stand vibration sensor part(21) adhered to at least one rolling mill stand in a plural rolling mill stands to measure vibration of the at least one rolling mill stand; a torsional vibration sensor part(23) for measuring torsional vibration of a work roll driving spindle installed at the at least one rolling mill stand; and an operation control part(25) for determining the maximum intensity of frequency at vibration signal inputted from the rolling mill stand vibration sensor part during generation of chatter as a resonant frequency (fr) of the rolling mill stand and judging as a chatter generation relative risk a ratio of the sum (Mfr) of frequency components in a split region corresponding to the resonant frequency in the sum of frequency components of the analyzed total band by analyzing vibration signal inputted from the torsional vibration sensor part.
