PURPOSE: A method for decoding a content file on a kernel mode by applying a public key encryption algorithm and a DRM(Digital Rights Management) client program not subordinated to the plug-in support of a viewer program by using the same are provided to improve stability by decoding an encrypted content file as a file system filter driver directly accesses a memory on the kernel mode, and complexly using a public key and a symmetric key for an encryption/decryption method. CONSTITUTION: In case of the contents for a plug-in supported viewer program, if an inquiry request of a viewer is received, plug-in gets the certification information by communicating with a server(7-9), decodes the certified contents(11), and permits the content inquiry(12). In the case of the contents for a plug-in non-supported viewer program, if the inquiry request of the view is received, the file system filter driver calls a DRM enabler(6e). The DRM enabler gets the certification information by communicating with the server, decodes the certified contents(10f), and permits the content inquiry(12).
