PURPOSE: Installation structure of a winch for an elevator is provided to fasten the winch firmly in a frame of the floor of a path, and to improve comfortableness and safety of the elevator by minimizing vibration and noise to the elevator car or the building in actuating the winch. CONSTITUTION: An elevator car is connected to a main rope, and moved up and down with winding or unwinding the main rope on a main sheave(42) without a machine room in a path of an elevator. Buffer footings(50) are installed on the floor of the path, and first and second guide rails are formed vertically in the buffer footing. Both ends of a supporting member(60) are combined with both buffer footings, and a vertical member(70) is combined vertically with the upper part of the supporting member. A frame(80) is combined with the upper part of the vertical member, and a winch is placed in the space of the frame. Plural overturn restricting members(86) are protruded in the frame, and dampers(88) are installed in the frame.
