METHOD FOR COMPLEMENTING LOCATION DETERMINATION OF WIRELESS COMMUNICATION TERMINAL USING WIRELESS NETWORK AND SYSTEM THEREFOR

PURPOSE: A system for complementing location determination of a wireless communication terminal using a wireless network is provided to quickly convert a location mode into an A-GPS(Global Positioning System) mode using a wireless network if location determination fails, thereby continuously receiving a location-based service. CONSTITUTION: A wireless communication terminal(120) builds a GPS receiver for receiving navigation data from a satellite(110) and calculating a location and speed of the wireless communication terminal(120). If location determination fails, the wireless communication terminal(120) has a function of automatically converting into an A-GPS mode using a wireless network. A base station transmitter(130) receives a location confirm request signal from the wireless communication terminal(120), or delivers a calculated location information signal to the terminal(120). A base station controller(140) receives the request signal, and calculates the location of the terminal(120). An MSC(150) has a control function and an interworking function. A measurement server(160) overall controls and manages location information on the terminal(120), and calculates the location information.
