PURPOSE: A device and method for storing and recovering a working context is provided to minimize an electric current being consumed in a power off standby mode of a mobile device having an SOC(system on chip). CONSTITUTION: If standby time set by a user is passed, an SOC(110) prepares an execution of a power off standby mode for reducing a static leakage current. An INT controller(20) receives an interrupt signal being outputted from a hardware module and transmits the interrupt signal to a microprocessor(10). The microprocessor(10) responds to the interrupt signal and transmits all working contexts stored in all registers of the first peripheral device(30), the second peripheral device(40), and the microprocessor(10) to a memory(60) through an on-chip bus(50). A working context transmission controller(70) transmits the working context as to at least one operated hardware module(10,30,40) stored in the memory(60) to a non-volatile memory device(130) through an interface by responding to a storage command being outputted from the microprocessor(10) or the peripheral devices(30,40). A power(150) supplies an operation power to the SOC(110).
