PURPOSE: A method and a device for binarizing a digital color printer are provided to improve output resolution by uniformly dispersing cyan dots and magenta dots. CONSTITUTION: A value of an (m,n)th pixel corresponding to cyan to decide binarization is added to a value of the (m,n)th pixel corresponding to magenta to decide binarization(10). It is judged whether the sum of the c(m,n) and the m(m,n) is smaller than a predetermined value(12). If so, it judged whether a binary threshold d_c(m,n) is larger than a binary threshold d_m(m,n)(14). If so, a binary threshold T_c(m,n) to decide the kind of cyan dots and a binary threshold T_m(m,n) to decide the kind of magenta dots are obtained according to the size of d_m(m,n) and λ_cm(m,n), wherein λ_cm(m,n) represents an ideal distance between cyan dots and magenta dots(16). If not, the T_c(m,n) and the T_m(m,n) are obtained according to the size of d_c(m,n) and λ_cm(m,n)(18). If the sum of the c(m,n) and the m(m,n) is larger than the predetermined value, the T_c(m,n) and T_m(m,n) are obtained by using other expressions(20).
