PURPOSE: Provided is a method for effectively removing nitrate from plants with minimizing the damage to characteristic matters of the plants. Also, provided are a nitrate removed plant and a food containing the nitrate removed plant. CONSTITUTION: A method for removing nitrate from plants is characterized by impregnating a plant with a water-soluble solution of 20 deg.C or more containing 0.1% or more sodium salt selected from the group consisting of NaCl, NaHCO3 and Na2SO4 or potassium salt selected from the group consisting of KCl, KHCO3 and KHSO4.
