ADAPTIVE CLOCK RECOVERING METHOD

PURPOSE: An adaptive clock recovering method is provided to recover a clock signal for a TDM(Time Division Multiplexing) output from packets of TDM data transmitted over a packet network. CONSTITUTION: A packet buffer is provided to store incoming packets after transmission over a packet network. A packet count, which is incremented when packets arrive at the packet buffer and is decremented when a packet leaves the packet buffer, is maintained. The packet count is sampled. A clock frequency of a TDM output is controlled on the basis of the sampled packet count.
