Access control system triggering method for a motor vehicle saves current/power on triggering a pick-up device for a triggering signal

In a scan mode in reaction to a triggering signal (Sa), it is established whether a receiving signal (Sr) to be processed is being delivered to a controller (3) for a pick-up device by a receiver unit (7) in the pick-up device. In reaction to the triggering signal, the receiver unit and the controller are each simultaneously switched from a current-saving idling state into an active state. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a pick-up device for controlling access to a motor vehicle; (2) a computer program product with program code devices to be controlled by the pick-up device after loading into the controller's memory; and (3) a data carrier with the computer program product recorded on it.
