The flood barrier consists of panels 1 or 2 cm thick, made from recycled tyre rubber or plastic with vertical or horizontal reinforcing bars sandwiched between them to give an overall thickness of 5 cm. Adjacent panels are fixed together by U-section male and female waterproof joints, and a barrier of the required height is erected between posts fixed to walls having similar joints. The bottom panels in the barrier should have a 10 - 20 cm section of soft rubber or other material to follow ground irregularities. |
